We regularly shop Fourth Street, Rockridge and the Elmwood, and prowled Telegraph Avenue in our more kittenish days. But San Pablo Avenue near Dwight Avenue, with its funky, whimsical mix of the old and new, stopped us in our tracks recently.

DeSino Gallery (2508 San Pablo Ave.) sells Mao and other Cultural Revolution figures, antique doors and Buddhist statues and "eclectic architectural elements."
